Performance by the Playback AZ Theater Company
On Saturday, February 11, the Playback AZ Theater Company held a charity performance for Ukraine. The company performs improvisational theater based on the experiences of audience members.
For this particular event, the members started with the experiences of Olesia Kyrylchuk, who was active in Playback Theater in Ukraine and participated as an actor. The 23 displaced Ukrainians at the event were able to share their experiences and feelings with the rest of the audience through the performance. Several displaced Ukrainians raised their hands to volunteer when the conductor (the person who does the narration and asks for audience suggestions) asked for volunteers, and one participant noted that seeing their experiences acted out on stage helped them process their own feelings. The performance was a valuable experience for everyone involved to share different experiences and memories regardless of nationality.
