Displaced Ukrainians participate in disaster drills

In order to help displaced Ukrainians spend their lives in Yokohama safely and raise awareness about disasters that can occur at any time, such as earthquakes, the Yokohama Fire Bureau collaborated with the Disaster Prevention Center in order to hold disaster drills.

Participants experienced a simulation of an earthquake on the same scale as the 1923 Kanto Earthquake (7 on the JMA Seismic Intensity Scale), learned how to use fire extinguishers, and practiced evacuating from smoke. The participants passionately asked questions after the lecture on disaster preparedness and stocking emergency supplies.
